Lag Be’Omer bonfires limited due to dry, hot weather forecast
The Fire Commissioner Didi Simha Monday issued a ban on the traditional annual Lag Be’Omer bonfires on Wednesday night – outside sites approved by local authorities due to the forecast of exceptionally dry, hot and windy conditions. The ban covers forests, nature reserves, national parks, residential buildings, natural gas and fuel installations and power lines. Even in permitted locations, the bonfires may be no more than 1.5m high and 3m in diameter. More than a thousand firemen, fire inspectors and volunteers will be on duty across the country for this week’s heatwave.
Why only Hamas can start fires on Lag Be’Omer?
Let Them Burn!
