Large Palestinian flags hangs over the UK Labor conference
British Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn announced at the party conference that the next Labor government will recognize the Palestinian state “as soon as we take office.” He went on to say regarding the “ongoing denial of justice and rights to the Palestinian people: Our Party is united in condemning the shooting of hundreds of unarmed demonstrators in Gaza by Israeli forces and the passing of Israel’s discriminatory Nation-State Law.” Corbyn admitted that the row over anti-Semitism in Labor had caused “immense hurt and anxiety in the Jewish community and great dismay in the party.” He omitted to address his failure to root it out. Regarding another controversy, plans for a woman to be elected joint deputy leader of Labor Party were withdrawn over concerns it would “undermine Jeremy Corbyn.”
