Lavrov calls attack on Syrian air base a “dangerous development”

The Russian defense and foreign ministries have asked their Israeli counterparts to provide “explanations” for air strikes on a “Syrian military facility,” former FSB general Senator Vladimir Jabarov reported Sunday. He was speaking with Iranian media.
Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters that the “air strike carried out on Sunday on a Syrian air base was a dangerous development. “I hope the US understands this,” he said, adding that there was no need for an investigation to find out who carried out the strike in Homs. Moscow earlier attributed the attack to Israel, which has offered no comment.

      Russians are upstarts.
Putin has gotten himself into big Shit by supporting the war criminal assad. They got butt fucked by the US airforce on the Euphrates and are now desperate to get out of Syria any way they can.

The Russians have chosen Syria and Iran and Turkey as allies – big mistake. The Islamists are into war and conquest and bloodshed non-stop – they always have been. They cannibalize their own and will do the same to non-Muslims as they have proven in a region cleansed of non-Muslims. That is the world of “multiculturalism” Western leaders are importing into their own countries and are finding out does not work out so well for civilization. If you keep supporting the concept that all people will be peaceful if treated with respect and if you accommodate their beliefs and needs, have a look at the overall situation and then ask yourself how any western country could possibly support importing a belief system that justifies the kind of carnage we see happening in the region. How could any civilized country like Russia militarily support Iran, Syria and a multitude of terror groups knowing how they operate?

One reason I believe Putin intervened in Syria was to acquire battlefield experience. America has acquired quite a lot of it in recent years, in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Such experience is very valuable, and even presents a risk not to possess it.

The situation with the US and Russia is quite dangerous currently. The bi-hemispheral balance which the world “enjoyed” during the Cold War is gone. America is peaking as a world *empire* (and yes I use that word deliberately even though no Wikipedia page exists for it…)

Russia on the other hand has arguably never been weaker relative to its Western rivals. The economy is mostly energy and raw materials. And most worryingly for Russia, Chinese military technology is expected to overtake Russian within the decade.

No force on earth can challenge the US at this point. It’s biggest threats are internal politics.

What I meant to say is that there’s no Wikipedia page for “American Empire” because technically no such term exists.

Realy? But infact russian intervention in Middle East was very succesful for them. They saved assad and syria, made turkey look like idiots and force them to obey their orders, make pressure on israel every single time israel attack some where and ask them the reason of attack (which is new) and lot more

Lavrov is playing a weak hand very skillfully.
The biggest threat to Russia is not us, the USA, but the Israeli gas pipeline being built to supply gas to Europe, Russia’s primary source of income. Now is the time for us to arm Israel to the hilt. We need also to neutralize Hezbollah before then.

Exactly. It’s kind of like poker. Russia will have to show their hand. Sooner now, rather than later. There’s a million and a half of them living in Israel too. The more shit they stir the tighter the oligarch wallet gets! Israel knows what day it is.
