Lavrov: S-400s delivery to Turkey speeded up

Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday that Russia will speed up its deliveries of advanced anti-missile S-400 missiles to Turkey. He spoke at a press conference in Moscow with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Causoglu. Turkey becomes the first NATO member state to purchase advanced Russian weapons. The S-400s were promised for the first quarter of 2020.

The S400 is a game changer in the Middle East. Turkey currently does not ha ve ground to air effective systems. This will change status.

At the rate that Erdogan is destroying Turkey, Turkey could be gone, by 2019. No Russian air-defence system is going to save this situation.

      @ Charles Smyth,

What makes you think that Erdogan is gentleman enough to refrain from the historic ploy utilized by so many madmen, dictators and other such unsavory characters throughout history, as a means of holding onto power; start fires, the bigger the better!!?!?

Turkey must not trust Nato, not after the attempted coup, that move shows Erdogan that Nato wants him out and a US puppet in.

I greatly appreciate your opinion, though have to say that camel references sometimes can be quite amusing.

    Proliferationat its best.
Turkey is a Nato country if you like it or not. So be sure that the S400 will be reverse engineered by Nato engineers.

In cold war even plain diesel generators were to be destroyed before they fall into enemy hands. Manual reads where to put the explosives…
So much stupidity on proliferating tech to the Nato is fascinating.
