Lavrov: UK could be sued for slander over Litvinenko probe comments
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a news conference in Moscow Tuesday that Britain could be sued for slander over comments about the British public inquiry into the ex-spy Alexander Litvinenko’s murder. The inquiry found he was “deliberately poisoned” in an operation “probably” approved by President Vladimir Putin. Lavrov said no proof was provided to underpin the accusation and the inquiry would seriously complicate Russian-British relations.
