According to Lebanese media, Beirut mobilized tanks in response to an alleged Israeli troop crossing of the blue line border on Sunday. This report, which came after the IDF announced the unearthing of a third Hizballah cross-border tunnel, was not confirmed by any other source. IDF foreign media spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said that on Saturday, three Hizballah operatives had used low visibility to try and remove sensors the IDF had planted east of the Lebanese village of Meiss al-Jabal, one of the focal points of Israel’s tunnel operation. They ran off when Israeli soldiers fired in the air. The location of the third tunnel uncovered has not been revealed. Read DEBKAfile special report.
