Lieberman: Hamas tunnel breached sovereignty of Egypt and Israel

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Sunday that the trajectory of the third tunnel Israel demolished Saturday night trespassed on the sovereignty of two countries, Egypt and Israel. He stressed that Israel’s crackdown on Hamas’ tools of terror would continue. By the end of 2018, not a single strike tunnel would remain, Lieberman guaranteed. He said Israel would continue to address the Gaza population’s humanitarian needs, but the price for full reconstruction was the full demilitarization of the Gaza Strip. The minister noted that, had the Hamas terror tunnel been used, it would have cut off the vital goods and energy lifelines of its own people by blowing up the Kerem Shalom freight crossing and fuel pipelines.
