Lieberman: No breakthrough on Hamas release of Israelis

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman Sunday absolutely refuted media reports of a breakthrough in negotiations with Hamas for the return of two soldiers lost in the 2016 Gaza war and two Israeli civilians whom Hamas is holding in the Gaza Strip. He underlined the constant effort being made to gain their recovery. "We will not stop until this is achieved,” he stressed. Asked by reporters whether Israel would consider trading them for a large number of convicted terrorists as Hamas demands, Lieberman sidestepped the question by saying: “We will continue to make the maximum effort possible.”
