Lieberman: No sign Palestinians stopping payments to terrorists’ families
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Wednesday that the Palestinian Authority had not stopped payments to the families of terrorists killed in attacking Israelis, nor was there any signs it intended to do so, Lieberman was answering a question about remarks US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Tuesday: “They have changed that policy and their intent is to cease the payments to the families of those who have committed murder or violence against others,” the Secretary of State said. He noted that he and President Donald Trump both spoke with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas about the issue during recent meetings in Washington and Bethlehem, and made it clear that “this outrageous practice” is “simply not acceptable to us.”
