Lieberman orders Gaza crossings reopened

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has authorized the reopening of the Kerem Shalom and Erez crossings to Gaza from Sunday morning, in view of what the statement from his office referred to as a “decline in violent incidents from the Gaza Strip over the weekend and Hamas efforts at restraint.” DEBKAfile notes that a mob of 10,000 raging Palestinians Friday hurled 33 explosive devices at Israeli troops.  The resumption of Qatar-funded fuel supplies remains suspended pending the state of security in the coming days.

This is not a strategic, or even tactical policy – but endless moronic, impotent lack of initiative on behalf of the Israeli political establishment.
