Lieberman rumored about to step down as defense minister

Rumors were rife in political circles that Avigdor Lieberman is considering resigning as defense minister at the press conference he has called for 1 pm Wednesday after a meeting of his Yisrael Beitenu party. Lieberman was one of four ministers in the security cabinet who objected to prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s policy on the Gaza crisis and the resulting ceasefire, after a massive Palestinian barrage of nearly 500 missiles. There are calls in his own party and from opposition benches for Lieberman’s resignation.  Angry residents of Sderot, which took rocket salvo after salvo, rallied Tuesday night to protest Israel’s consent to a ceasefire without a major Gaza operation.

What happened to Hezbollah? Why are they so quiet? Have they given up and no longer a threat?
