In an outspoken comment on the Gaza crisis, Avi Dichter, former Shin Bet Director and chair of Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, said Wednesday: “The State of Israel must destroy the military terror infrastructure in Gaza. We have carried out a similar operation in Judea and Samaria in Operation Defensive Shield, a strategic decision that the State of Israel must accept.” This was the first public comment by a member of the prime minister’s Likud which takes issue with the government’s Gaza policy.
