Macron and Le Pen will contest French presidency in runoff
The center-left Emmanuel Macron and far-right leader Marine Le Pen have won the first round of voting in the French presidential elections, projected results say, and will face a run-off vote on May 7. Macron won 23.7 percent, while Le Pen gained 21.7 percent, French TV reports.They pulled ahead of center-right Francois Fillon and hard left Jean-Luc Melenchon.
