Macron’s party wins clear majority in National Assembly

The French President Emmanuel Macron's new party Le Republique en Marche has won a clear parliamentary majority of 300 seats in the 577-seat National Assembly in Sunday’s vote. The winning margin was less than expected due to a low voter turnout. The result has marginalized France’s mainstream parties.  At least half of the centrist party’s newly-elected deputies have little or no political experience
