Prime Minister and Defense Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced Thursday his appointment of OC Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, as deputy chief of staff on the recommendation of the incoming Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi. Gen. Zamir is 52, married with three children.
