Major muscle-flexing in store for divided G7 summit in Canada
US President Donald Trump flew to the G7 summit of rich nations Friday ready to fend off the indignant broadsides coming from fellow members over his hefty tariffs on imports from key members gathering in Charlevoix, Quebec. French President Emmanuel Macron said: “Maybe the American president doesn’t care about being isolated today, but we don’t mind being six, if needs be,” because “we represent a real force at the international level today.” Canadian prime Minister Justin Trudeau predicted “robust discussions” on trade. Trump on Twitter: “Please tell Prime Minister Trudeau and President Macron that they are charging the US massive tariffs and create non-monetary barriers. We will match them and more…” Interestingly, G7 members Japan, Italy and Germany have not so far taken sides in the rift.
Emmanuel Macron is a fool if he gets carried away thinking any coallision can beat USA ; Twice to the rescue, USA has no need of anything the Frogs or Germans have to bargain with. Russia has EU by the balls. EU is a successor to NAZI agenda domination Europe.; It is now creaking and will break up within 3 years
The provincial wing of the Liberal Party that governs Canada federally under Justin Trudeau was just decimated by the Conservatives in yesterday’s Ontario Provincial election.
Hopefully the same is repeated in the next federal election in Canada in 2019. I am all for free trade on level paying fields but understand that the US needs to stop other countries from ripping it off – especially China which steals technology from places like silicon valley which gladly give it away for free because they cannot tell friend from foe and think that all foreigners deserve the right to rip off America.
Macron has bigger issues to deal with now than trade because Islamism and no-go zones are spreading and police refuse to enter these open-air terror zones. Macron is a bit of a moron in a country that really wants to commit national suicide.
Up North people start thinking Hillary would have been better….
In the USA during Trump’s first 500 days, employment is up (especially for minorities), the stock market is up, borders are being made less impervious, reality has returned to foreign policy, America is insisting on fair trade, and even the North Korean dictator is talking as a result of Trump’s politics.
A rising sea lifts all boats.
Canada is being left behind with a leader in Trudeau who listens to George Soros when Soros commands him to open up the borders to unscreened immigration. The people of Canada will come to their senses and this movement began last night. Harper represented real progressive values – Trudeau is stuck in his pot-smoking privileged boy haze.
WELL DONE MR PRESIDENT TRUMP YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!! those who robbed US Under the former american adminstrations must pay even if it was an ally GOOD PRESIDENT CONGRATULATION TO YOU
If Macaroon and True-doh! wnat to take on the US in an economic war, go for it. Wave goodbye to your economies as they rapidly recede from sight.
Macron?! Is that the moron with the sausage joke from last week? – Who cares what he says!
