Major Syrian-Hizballah offensives stalled against ISIS & rebels
DEBKAfile: The major offensives Syrian-Hizballah forces launched last week to recover the central Syrian town of Palmyra from ISIS and break through to rebel-held Zabadani west of Damascus have failed to peentrate the defense lines at both cities. Halted 7 km short of Palmyra, Syria lacks the reserve strength for turning the tide of battle in its favor, while at Zabadani, Syria and Hizballah are taking heavy casualties while failing to advance. Among there were three high Syrian officers and three senior HIzballah commanders.
