Marines reinforce US base at Al Tanf 

Marine units were flown by helicopter on Sunday and Monday to reinforce the US Al Tanf base in eastern Syria. The CENTCOM spokesman said they would be taking part in a live fire drill. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the strategic US base, which sits at the junction of the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian border junction, was beefed up in the wake of Russian threats to strike pro-US forces in eastern Syria.
