Masses of firearms, explosives impounded at Israel Arab centers

Police Tuesday disclosed that masses of concealed weapons had been impounded in a major sweep of Israeli Arab centers in northern Israel. Since the beginning of 2016, police searches collected hundreds of rifles, pistols and hand grenades, 30 explosive devices and a mountain of ammunition from civilians possessing unlicensed weapons. This sweep will continue. It was launched in response to Israeli Arab leaders’ appeal for police intervention to cut down on the violence within their communities.
