May government releases guidelines for no-deal Brexit

Theresa May’s government has published 25 documents of guidance for individuals and businesses with instructions and contingency plans in case Britain leaves the EU without a deal. Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab has set out what he called “practical and proportionate” advice to avoid “short term disruption” in such issues as extra paperwork at borders and medicine shortages. Reaching a deal with the EU was the “overriding priority,” he said, but “we must be ready to consider the alternative” including the claim that the Army would be deployed to maintain food supplies, and businesses will have to pay levies on goods imported from the EU. As negotiations remain stalled, the EU has produced 68 notices on Brexit preparedness.”
