May meets Macron in Paris, says Brexit talks begin next week
At a joint news conference in Paris, UK Prime Minister Theresa May said the timetable for Brexit negotiations “remains on course and will begin next week." President Emmanuel Macron said the EU door always remains open. The two announced the UK and France were working together to stamp out terrorism and extremism. “Nowhere is our cooperation closer than in the areas of defense and security,” she said.
French nationals were among the victims of last week’s London Bridge attack. The two leaders headed after their talks to the Stade de France to watch a friendly football international between the UK and France.
