Merkel: Germany will not participate in military action in Syria
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Thursday, “Germany will not participate militarily,” in a military operation in Syria, although “no decision on that matter has been made yet.” She added, “We have been keeping an eye on the situation and we support every effort to emphasize that the use of chemical weapons is unacceptable,” she said, calling on the West to work together to respond to the alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria.
