Michele Obama opens the US Democrats’ convention

The First Lady said her husband’s record in office had proved his values, vision and courage and said he must be given the opportunity to continue his unfinished task of improving the economy. Thursday, the convention endorses Barack Obama’s run for re-election in November. The latest opinion polls make this a tight race between him and his Republican rival Mitt Romney.
