Missing soldier’s family declines to accept his death

The family of Sgt. Oron Shaul, 20, from Poriya Elite, refuses to accept the army’s presumption of his death after his body was not found or identified.. Sgt. Shaul was in the IDF’s APC in which the entire team was killed by a Hamas anti-tank missile early Sunday morning.  Six bodies were recovered, but the seventh, now named as Oron Shaul, was not found or identified. After an exhaustive probe and tests, the army informed his parents that Shaul must be presumed dead. But they refuse to accept his death without tangible evidence.

Earlier this week, Hamas’ military arm claimed to have captured an Israeli prisoner named without determining his condition.  Al Arabiya TV reported Tuesday that Israel had asked a German go-between to help recover a missing Israeli soldier. This is not confirmed by Israel.
