Mitt Romney meets Trump, looks forward to “more conversations”
President elect Donald Trump spent more than 90 minutes with his bitter critic former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Saturday at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. amid high speculation.
Romney came out of the meeting alone and gave a brief statement in which he said they had held a thorough discussion on issues of significance and he hoped for more conversations with Trump. Vice president-elect Mike Pence made up the threesome meeting behind closed doors. Romney declined to answer reporters’ questions, including the speculation that he would be offered the post of secretary of state in the Trump cabinet.
