Moderate 4.4 magnitude earthquake felt in parts of Israel
The 4.4 tremor that shook Israel around 8 a.m. Wednesday had its epicenter near the Lebanese port of Sidon. No reports so far of casualties or damage. Household furniture was shaken in the northern and central towns, including Haifa, Nahariya, Afula, Nazareth and Yoqneam as well the Jordan Valley.
This was the eighth moderately light quake occurring in Israel since the major disasters that hit Turkey and Syria.
