Mohammad Abu Tir, senior Hamas official, arrested in Jerusalem

Mohammad Hassan Abu Tir, a leading official of Hamas in the West Bank who was stripped of his Israeli residency due to his position as a representative of Hamas in the Palestinian parliament, was arrested at his home in East Jerusalem early Thursday morning and taken in for questioning. Abu Tir has served long prison terms for terror-related offenses.
