Moon solemn, Kim cracks jokes at first North-South Korean summit

After welcoming Kim Jong-un as the first North Korean leader to cross the Demilitarized Zone, South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in led his guest back over the border for a second handshake on the northern side of the border. Then, holding hands, they crossed back into the south for a guard of honor and talks at the South’s Peace House, about peace efforts and Kim’s coming summit with US President Donald Trump. While the occasion was loaded with symbolism, the North Korean leader relieved the solemnity by cracking jokes – and not just about noodles. When Moon spoke of a new era of peace, Kim smilingly assured the citizens of the South that he would no longer disturb their sleep with ballistic missile tests.

The US doesn’t need Syrian oil. It is now the world’s largest producer. Whatever minerals N Korea has are likewise of no interest to us.

Neither do we need snarky comments by incoherent, illiterate, ignorant posters unable even to spell “definitely!”

Spoken like a true cynical leftist Kenneth. You may have read recently that Japan has quite a large concentration of RE itself? For that matter the US also has RE but the Leftist Greens make certain it cannot be processed so the world turns instead to hell holes like NK to process because out of sight out of mind so long as you get your goodies. This meeting, opportunity would never have happened under any leftist warmonger. Wilson, Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Obama all started wars didn’t they leftist Kenneth. Whom do you worship? Trump made this opportunity happen because he was his own man. Eat it.

Ken your views appear to not be well thought out . Sounds to me like a liberal ignorant ” deceitful” communist tactic used to diminish something good that did not come from the progressive left. Anyone with any serious thought would encourage and Embrace peace. Why not allow the process to unfold, as a U.S. Citizen North Korea is the last place I would invest in until ( years from now ) North Korea has a proven track record that is believable. Give peace a chance. You may just benefit from it.

Yep. The Vietnamese are making trillions from the oil reserves you said the US troops were fighting for.

I feel compelled to point out that in video footage of the interaction, you can clearly see it was actually the North Korean leader who encouraged Moon to cross back over into North Korea and shake hands.

North Korea has no economy or even agriculture left for subsistence. The regime is on the verge of collapse from Trump sanctions. Meeting Moon was a small taste of carrots that wait in store. Meeting Trump will be a foretaste of complete annihilation that also waits in store. Rocket pig laughs at his own imminent destruction.
