More than 70 dead in two terrorist blasts in Nigerian capital

The explosions hit a crowded bus station on the outskirts of the Nigerian capital, Abuja Sunday as commuters were about to board buses and taxies. At least 70 people were killed and many wounded. In three separate attacks last week, gunmen believed to be from the Islamist Boko Haram movement killed 135 civilians and abducted several women. After one attack on a teachers college, they burned down the college library. Boko Haram has waged a murderous insurgency for five years to transform Nigeria into a strict Islamist state.
