Moroccan schools to teach Jewish history and culture

Morocco is to make Jewish history and culture a part of the school curriculum. This is a first in the Arab world where Islam is the state religion, said Serge Berdugo, secretary-general of the Council of Jewish Communities of Morocco to AFP speaking from Casablanca.
Morocco this week became the fourth Arab nation since August to join the Trump initiative for diplomatic relations with Israel after the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan. Prime Minister Binyamin said liaison offices would be reopened in Tel Aviv and Rabat, a decade after they were closed by Morocco during the Palestinian uprising. Full diplomatic relations are coming, he said, “as rapidly as possible.”
