Moscow: 200 + Islamists killed on way to Deir ez-Zour
The Defense Ministry in Moscow reported Monday that the Russian Air Force had destroyed “another large column of ISIS fighters heading for the city of Deir ez-Zour,” in eastern Syria – “their last base in Syria.” The Russian jets were described asalso destroying around 20 SUVs armed with large caliber weapons and mortars, as well as armored vehicles and tanks. The statement did not say when the air strike occurred, but a Syrian site referred to Russian air strikes on Aug. 19.
