Moscow aids release of US journalist held four years in Syria

Kevin Patrick, 33, an American journalist, was captured by unidentified armed Syrians in 2012 when he tried to enter northern Syria from Turkey. He was set free Friday after being held for four years. State Department sources reported that Russia helped obtain the reporter’s release and handed him over to the US embassy in Moscow.
