Moscow confirms: Top Russian general killed in Ukraine counteroffensive

The death was confirmed of Maj. Gen Sergey Goryachev, chief of the Russian 35^th Combined Arms Army, while battling the Ukraine counteroffensive in the Zaborizhzhia region. He was the 11^th Russian general killed in the Ukraine war. A Ukraine officer said a number of senior officers died with the general at the HQ of the 35^th Army on the night of June 13.

Early Wednesday, a Russian refinery inside the city of Krasnodar was hit by a major explosion.
