Moscow: Iraq seeks Russian S-300 and S-400 air defense systems

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Defense Committee Alexander Sherin disclosed on Monday that Iraq is negotiating the purchase of  S-300 and S-400 air defense systems. Baghdad seeks to boost its air defenses after the recent violations of Iraqi airspace in the course of clashes between the US and Iran. Sherin admitted he didn’t know how Iraq would pay for the weapons if the Americans froze those accounts.
