Moscow: Snowden free to speak to anyone he chooses

After Edward Snowden said he was ready to help a German probe into US spying, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Saturday that the fugitive former NSA contractor is free to speak to whoever he chooses, including foreign authorities. "He has temporary refugee status. That status does not foresee any restrictions on his moving around the country or speaking to anyone,” he said.  Snowden is welcome to stay in Russia as long as he does not harm US interests, said Peskov. “He is not held captive here. But if he leaves, he will have to re-apply for asylum. He can leave only once.”
