Moscow sources: Syria to get 8 S-300s. Russian electronic gear delivered
Russia is to supply Syria with eight S-300 batteries – two very soon; the rest in the coming weeks, Defense Ministry sources in Moscow reported on Tuesday. They explained that the new missiles will boost Syria’s ability to defend its borders with Israel, Lebanon and Iraq. The same sources confirmed the landing Tuesday at the Russian Khmeimim air base in western Syria of an Illyushin-76 with a shipment of electronic equipment that covers all of Syrian territory. This follows Moscow’s declaration of electronic war against Israel on Monday.
