Moscow steps in to de-escalate the Israel-Syrian crisis

Russian President Vladimir Putin put in a call Monday to the Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu after he arrived in China for an official visit. They discussed the Israeli operation against Syria. At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov talked to Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem. None of the parties revealed the content of their conversations.
