Moscow tells Israel to stop attacks on Damascus airport – report

Russian officials have informed Israel that any more attacks on or around Damascus airport will not be tolerated, the London-based Al Quds al-Arabia reported Friday. Moscow is planning steps to bring the airport back to full operational and commercial capability, the paper quoted Russian “technical sources” as saying. There was no comment on what would happen in the event of further Israeli attacks on Iranian flights carrying weapons or military equipment. Neither was there any comment from Israel. DEBKAfile: The IDF spokesman on Thursday reported that a senior Russian military delegation had held talks with Israeli counterparts on Israel’s operations against Iranian targets and the two parties had reached common understandings.
