Moscow’s claim that it killed ISIS spokesman is a lie, US official says

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Wednesday that one of Russia's Sukhoi Su-34 fighters had bombed the convoy carrying Islamic State spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani in Syria, killing him and 40 other fighters of the terrorist organization. The statement came less than a day after senior US officials said that the spokesman had been killed by a missile fired by an American drone. Shortly after Moscow took credit for killing al-Adnani, a US defense official was quoted as saying Russia's claim is false.
