Moving car blows up in Hizballah’s Dahya stronghold of Beirut
An apparent suicide bomber at the wheel of a moving car blew himself up Tuesday on the main street of Beirut’s Dahya district killing at least five people, wounding 27 and causing heavy damage to buildings. It was the second time in two weeks that a bomb blast hit the busy Shite district known as Hizballah’s stronghold – part of a campaign targeting the Shiite armed group on its home ground over its involvement in the Syrian conflict on the side of Bashar Assad.
