Murderer of senior police officer Baruch Mizrahi captured in Hebron

Ziyad Awad, from Idna village near Hebron, was indicted Monday for the murder senior police officer Baruch Mizrahi and attempted murder of his family. They were ambushed on the road to KIryat Araba where they planned to spend the Passover Seder.  Awad turned out to have been one of the thousand convicted terrorists released for the Israeli soldier Gilead Shalit four years ago. He was serving a life sentence for murdering Palestinian collaborators with Israel. Awad’s son was also arrested on suspicion of helping his father escape and go into hiding after the murder.
