Netanyahu appoints a new national security adviser
Brig.-Gen (res) Avriel Bar-Yosef, 61, has been appointed Director of Israel’s National Security Council and Adviser to Binyamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem announced Wednesday. Bar-Yosef served as the NSC’s No, 2 from 2009 until six months ago, when the director Yossie Cohen was appointed head of the Mossad. He now steps into Cohen's shoes. Before that, he administered two Knesset committees: Foreign Affairs and Security and Defense Budget.
