Netanyahu congratulates Lieberman on acquittal

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu phoned Avigdor Lieberman to congratulate him on his unanimous acquittal Wednesday by a Jerusalem court on charges of fraud and breach of trust.  Netanyahu apologized to Secretary of State John Kerry for interrupting their conversation to put in the call to Lieberman. He welcomed the Yisrael Beitenu leader’s return to the government, from which he resigned as foreign minister last January after his indictment. He is expected to be sworn in to his old job at next Sunday’s cabinet meeting. Lieberman’s first destination after his acquittal was the Western Wall to give thanks and pray.
