Netanyahu convenes ministerial panel on violence against women

After a day of stunning demonstrations, work stoppages and narratives across the country in protest of violence against women, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called a meeting of the Ministerial Committee on this subject for Wednesday. More than 20,000 protesters rallied in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square Tuesday night to round off the event which crossed communities, race, religion and gender.  It was sponsored by hundreds of organizations, city councils, and official bodies. The protests focused on the failure of the government to deliver on earmarked funding for combating the violence and aiding its victims and on police inaction for curbing it.
