Netanyahu echoes president’s challenge to Gantz to join unity government

At a memorial ceremony for the late President Shimon Peres at Mount Herzl on Thursday, President Reuven Rivlin persuaded Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Kachol Lavan leader Benny Gantz to shake hands. Netanyahu then echoed Rivlin’s call for a unity government. Turning to Gantz, he said: The elections had no clear outcome. I call on you, Benny, to join me for a joint effort to bring Israel to safe shore. Let us meet soon, without prior conditions.” The PMO has already been in touch with his rival’s office to set a date for a meeting.
