Netanyahu: For peace, Palestinians must accept sovereign Israel
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reiterated his position that a necessary condition for any peace agreement was an end to the Palestinian refusal to recognize the right of the Jews to a homeland in the land of their fathers. He also stood by his acceptance of a two-state solution, In a speech at Bar Ilan University Sunday night, Netanyahu covered the same ground as his UN speech last week when he accused Iran of seeking to dominate the Middle East and beyond and destroy the state of Israel. He said he was ready for a diplomatic solution of the nuclear question – provided Iran was stripped of its capabilities to develop nuclear weapons, i.e., no centrifuges or plutonium reactor.
