Netanyahu halts Qatar’s January remittance to Gaza

Prime Minister and Defense Minster Binyamin Netanyahu decided Tuesday to hold back Qatar’s $15m remittance to the Gaza Strip for January in view of continuing Palestinian terrorist violence. Two shooting attacks were staged during the day – one at an IDF patrol, which returned the fire, and the second by a sniper whose bullet hit the helmet of an Israeli officer. In both cases, an IDF tank shelled Hamas positions, killing one Palestinian and injuring two. Part of the Gaza-Israeli border was shut down.
