Netanyahu: Israel troops will never face international tribunal

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu pledged at the Sunday cabinet meeting in Jerusalem that Israeli soldiers would not be allowed to face an “international tribunal.”  He spoke at the first cabinet session held since the International Criminal Court at The Hague responded to the Palestinian application for a preliminary probe of Israel’s conduct in last summer’s war against the terrorist group Hamas.

Netanyahu condemned the ICC prosecutor’s decision as providing "international terror with legitimacy under an international aegis, out-and-out hypocrisy and upside-down justice". Israel will fight this decision by every means in its power, he said, “and not be deterred from defending itself against terror. “
