Netanyahu meets Clinton after session with Trump
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in New York on Sunday evening, hours after sitting down with her Republican rival Donald Trump, the day before their first presidential face-off debate. Clinton told him she opposed any outside effort to impose a solution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including by the UN, and confirmed her commitment to a two-state solution negotiated directly between the parties. As Secretary of State Clinton visited Israel five times and was active in peace efforts.
Netanyahu stressed “Israel's efforts to achieve peace and stability in our region” according to a statement from his bureau that repeated the communiqué issued after his meeting with Trump.
