Netanyahu opts against putting gas deal to Knesset vote

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided Monday against putting the deal with the US-Israeli consortium for exploiting the Leviathan natural gas field to Knesset vote Wednesday when he found the cabinet divided on the issue. Economy Minister Arye Deri still refused to use his prerogative for overruling a possible antitrust commission’s veto – whichever way the Knesset voted.
